Welcome,
I am an applied microeconomist specializing in causal inference, with extensive experience in field experiments. I examine how gaps in policy implementation affect economic outcomes.
In my recent work, I show that delays in social protection payments substantially erode their welfare effects, highlighting that delivery reliability is a core design feature of effective policy.
In most of my studies, I design and implement large-scale surveys from scratch, working closely with national institutions and local field teams to ensure high-quality, policy-relevant data.
Currently, I am a Research Fellow at UNU-WIDER, based at Mozambique’s Ministry of Planning and Development, where I serve as research lead and technical advisor to the Inclusive Growth in Mozambique Programme, a long-term research and capacity-building partnership.
