Welcome,
I am an applied microeconomist with a unique blend of field-based experience, academic rigour, and policy engagement. My research draws on surveys that I design and coordinate from the ground up, working closely with national institutions and local field teams to ensure high-quality, context-sensitive data. I study how firms, households and individuals are affected by shocks, such as cyclones or inefficiencies in policy implementation, and how to build resilience to such shocks.
Currently, I am a Research Fellow at UNU-WIDER, based at Mozambique’s Ministry of Planning and Development, where I serve as technical advisor to the Inclusive Growth in Mozambique Programme, a long-term research and capacity-building partnership.
Recently, I have begun exploring how physical movement, particularly dance, can enhance health and well-being of different societal groups; an insight I have gained from working closely with dance communities in Maputo, and around the world.
